I Hate Flying Bugs Showcases ‘AI Digital Textbook’ Technology at MWC 2026... Aims to Set Global Education Standards
At MWC 2026, the company showcased AI-powered digital textbook technology tailored to the educational environments of various countries.

I Hate Flying Bugs (IHFB; Park Chan-yong), a company specializing in edtech, participated in the 4YFN (4 Years From Now) startup exhibition at “MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2026,” held in Barcelona, Spain, for four days from Monday, March 2, to Thursday, March 5.
I Hate Flying Bugs (hereinafter referred to as IHFB) is a South Korean company that has been developing and providing a proprietary learning platform based on AI (artificial intelligence) technology. According to the company, through its flagship service, “Mil-dang PT,” it addresses the limitations of traditional online courses—such as low completion rates and a lack of supervision—by implementing the kind of personalized, close supervision typically found in brick-and-mortar academies within an online environment.
In particular, the company is leading the way in making high-quality education accessible to all by precisely analyzing individual students’ weaknesses based on vast amounts of learning data and implementing customized curricula optimized for each student. It is also reportedly accelerating its expansion, having secured large-scale investments in recognition of its unrivaled technological capabilities and growth potential.
At this year’s MWC, IHFB showcased its public education innovation software—a version of the AI Digital Textbook (AIDT) prototype first unveiled last year, optimized for the specific characteristics of each country—as its flagship product. The company unveiled its platform, designed to analyze each student’s learning progress in real time and suggest optimized learning paths, and announced plans to pursue partnerships with public education institutions and corporations in various countries to diversify its export models.
At the exhibition, IHFB identified its proprietary, advanced “Deep Knowledge Tracing (DKT)” algorithm—which it developed in-house—as the key factor driving the competitiveness of its AIDT. This technology analyzes a learner’s past problem-solving history as sequential data and predicts the probability of getting an unsolved problem correct with over 90% accuracy.
This helps identify knowledge gaps that students may not even realize they have, and the AI dynamically reconstructs an optimal curriculum in real time to address those weaknesses.
The company also unveiled active multi-agent AI technology that detects in real time when a learner’s concentration wanes or they become stuck on a problem. This technology, specifically designed for public education, minimizes potential gaps in classroom supervision and supports improved academic achievement through additional guidance from teachers alerted by the system or AI-based tutoring.
IHFB plans to accelerate the diversification of its global export models starting with MWC 2026. While currently discussing technology export agreements with key countries in Latin America and Southeast Asia, the company intends to expand into the European market—where educational infrastructure is advanced—by proposing B2G and B2B models tailored to each country’s system.
Going beyond simply supplying software, the company will also implement customized operational programs, such as hiring local staff to directly train teachers on how to use the technology. The goal is to drive tangible changes in the classroom—changes that cannot be achieved through technology adoption alone—and to differentiate itself from competitors amid the growing trend toward digital education.
An IHFBS official stated, “Our modular software structure, which can be flexibly adapted to each country’s infrastructure environment, garnered significant interest from global buyers at this year’s MWC,” adding, “Based on the network we’ve built here, we intend to pursue aggressive market expansion and customization to emerge as a global AI SaaS edtech company.”
Meanwhile, MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2026, organized by the GSMA (Global System for Mobile Communications Association), was held at the Fira Gran Via exhibition center in Barcelona, Spain, under the theme “The IQ Era” (an era where connectivity and intelligence converge). This year’s event was the largest in history, attracting over 100,000 attendees and approximately 2,900 companies from 205 countries worldwide. Major exhibition categories encompassed the entire ICT industry, including △AI infrastructure △5G Advanced and 6G pre-commercial technologies △mobility △fintech, among others. Additionally, more than 200 conference sessions featuring global leaders were held concurrently during the exhibition.
