About us

Better education,for more people.

Understanding where students get stuck and helping them move forward. IHFB connects people and technology to make quality education more equally accessible.

Our story

Why we started

A challenge rooted in technology, with people at its heart.

2012

SINCE

In 2012, four people gathered in a small rooftop room with a belief that more people should have access to good education. We launched Mildang English the following year, using technology to understand each student's learning pace.

Good content and technology alone did not keep every student learning. Students needed someone to ask them where they were stuck, work through difficulties, and plan what came next. That is why IHFB focused on one-on-one learning support.

The story behind our name

I Hate Flying Bugs, IHFB.

People often ask why an education AI company is named “I Hate Flying Bugs.” Our name, IHFB, reflects how we approach the challenges of education.

A bug can bring a working system to a sudden halt. As developers, we could never simply overlook an error. We wanted to find its cause and fix it.

Learning has bugs, too. A missing concept or a misread condition can bring a student’s progress to a stop. We look for the small difficulties others might miss, helping each student move forward again.

The bug we most want to fix is unequal access to education. Our name carries a commitment to changing who gets the opportunity to learn, so more people can benefit from a good education.

Agentic AI for education operations

Agentic AIfor better education operations.

Running one-on-one learning services taught us that each student needs different support at different times. We build education-specific agentic AI from that experience: AI that assesses learning, connects students with practice and feedback, and adjusts its next steps based on results.

Data from hands-on teaching

Real lessons are the foundation of our AI.

Through MildangPT, IHFB has accumulated learning progress, written solutions, questions, and teacher feedback. Our AI draws on proprietary data about learning processes and interactions that correct answers alone cannot reveal.

Support for each student's difficulties

Different challenges call for different help.

A student who missed a concept needs a different explanation from one who made a calculation error. Agentic AI identifies causes in learning records, connects explanations with practice, checks understanding, and flags where teacher guidance is needed.
